The Edge TPU Pro chips deliver up to 10x performance improvement for on-device inference while reducing power consumption by 40% compared to previous generations. The hardware is optimized for computer vision and natural language processing tasks in environments with connectivity or latency constraints. The announcement signals Google's strategic push into the rapidly growing edge AI market, projected to reach $15 billion by 2027.
